Puplish date: 2025-07-23

As part of its commitment to institutional excellence and the implementation of governance principles and digital transformation, the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom at Minia University organized an extensive workshop today on the mechanisms for applying to the Minia University Government Excellence Award.

The event was held under the generous patronage of Prof. Dr. Essam El-Din Sadeq Farhat, President of Minia University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mostafa Bayoumi Abdel Salam, Dean of the Faculty. It was attended by Dr. Amir Tobia, University Award Coordinator, Dr. Tarek Mokhtar, Faculty Award Coordinator, along with a number of faculty members and administrative staff.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Mostafa Bayoumi, Dean of the Faculty, who affirmed the faculty’s full support for the government excellence pathway. He emphasized that applying for the award is not an end in itself, but a step toward comprehensive administrative development and achieving Egypt’s national vision to enhance institutional performance quality and improve services provided to citizens — reflecting the values of governance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This was followed by a speech from Dr. Amir Tobia, in which he highlighted the university’s efforts to promote a culture of government excellence and the importance of faculty participation in this process. He praised the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom as one of the pioneering faculties to embrace this path with seriousness and foresight.

Dr. Tarek Mokhtar delivered a detailed presentation on how to prepare the award submission file, explaining the technical standards on which the award is based, mechanisms for collecting evidence and data, and documenting outstanding administrative practices — all aiming to integrate academic and administrative efforts within the faculty.

The workshop also addressed several key topics, including:

  • An overview of the Government Excellence Award: vision and mission

  • Explanation of award categories and competitive evaluation criteria

  • Mechanisms for building a culture of excellence and enhancing institutional readiness for evaluation

The event provided an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, engage in discussion, and exchange insights in an interactive environment aimed at strengthening a culture of quality and sustainable improvement within higher education institutions.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the workshop, considering it a significant step toward empowering the faculty to compete academically and administratively at both the university and national levels.
